The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has officially announced the appointment of Nic Pothas as the Consultant Coach for the Nepal Men’s National Cricket Team for their upcoming tour of Scotland.
Pothas, a former South African international cricketer and an experienced coach with a strong global coaching background, brings his deep knowledge and expertise to the Nepalese side at a crucial time as they continue to build momentum on the international stage. His appointment signals CAN’s intent to further professionalize the national setup and equip the team with world-class guidance.
Sharing the news through its official social media platform, CAN described Pothas as a “#Rhino with Protea roots,” acknowledging both his South African origin and his new role in guiding Nepal’s cricketing ambitions.
Pothas has previously worked with teams like Sri Lanka, West Indies, and Hampshire and is known for his sharp cricketing intellect and ability to work effectively with emerging cricket nations. His strategic input will be key as Nepal prepares for the competitive conditions in Scotland.
